Changing some stuff

I’m having a little trouble with the forums right now so I’ve disabled them for the moment. I’ve been trying to make the forums and the rest of the site look as much the same as possible but I’m finding that it leaves me a bit shackled to my theme. I’ve been wanting to change it for a while but it takes so long to customize smf themes (for me anyway) that I just haven’t bothered.

I’m just going to pick something I really like for the forum and something I really like for the site. I’ll try to keep the mood similar if I can but I’m not going to be too worried about it. I found a nice one for smf with some nifty little extra functionalities but I’m having a bit of trouble getting them working. I think it might work better if it was installed on it’s own sub-domain (not sure why I didn’t do it that way from the beginning) so I’ll just have to re-install and import the databases. Nobody should have to sign up again.

I had intended in the beginning to really keep everything sort of “branded” and looking the same because I thought it would be more professional somehow. Now I’m thinking that maybe professional isn’t quite as restrictive as I thought it was. As long as I don’t plaster the whole layout with pictures of Hello Kitty I’m probably fine. ^_~

(no offense Hello Kitty, I still love you! )
