Wordpress 2.2 just dropped so it’s time to upgrade again! I’m excited because this one has widget support built right in so I’ll be running at least one plugin lighter.

I could just wait until fantastico has the update and then do it automatically, but I’m kinda in the mood to do some cleaning up in the site backend anyway so I’m just going to do it manually. I have an excellent backup system so if everything goes pear-shaped I should be able to fix it, not that I expect it to of course.

I tested one of the release candidates on a sandbox install of wordpress so I already know that it works okay with my theme edits. See ya on the flip side!

Edit: Upgrade and cleanup completed successfully, and I know nobody will notice a difference but somehow the site feels a little more efficient now that I’ve deleted a few unnecessary files.
