We’re now 20% less broken (the site that is)

My I’ve been busy, haven’t even had time to just sit down and post.

Last week was rough, what with that whole harassment unpleasantness. I haven’t quite gotten back into the swing of things, and of course that means that there is a bunch of work now ahead of me. Why oh why doesn’t the bad stuff ever happen during the slow stretches?

I’m getting a new site ready for launch, and I think it’s going to be pretty spiffy. The theme has been selected and modified (and extensively tested), the most important plugins have been installed and configured, the feed has been burned with Feedburner, the user accounts for me and my partner/employer in the project have been created, and the options have been set. All we need now is to add a few photos (which I have to retake tomorrow) and to whip up our packaging materials.

I’m really excited about this, because it’ll involve both making jewellery AND historical writing/blogging. I’m starting to think there’s almost no obscure subject I can’t enjoy, I’m a total renaissance nerd, for reals. :)

Lastly, I finally figured out what was broken, and it had nothing to do with WordPress, so I reinstalled and lost all my links and my Akismet count for nothing. Bummer.  :(  I can’t really be sad though, because it’s all fixed now! I can finally just focus on the bits of reorganizing and tweaking that I wanted to do. I need to rethink my plugin arsenal, and I’m hoping to add some features. Not to mention finally sitting down and writing my own theme, at the very least I should attempt a mockup. A logo would be swell too, at least so I can have a nice identifiable favicon. :)
