Our new baby was dropped off just three hours ago, and already he’s having a power snooze under the desk next to Jamie’s feet. Within just a few minutes of being brought into the house he was accepting ear scratches and rubbing against legs. Within an hour he was even purring while receiving said ear scratches. It’s been just over 2 years since I’ve heard a cat purr, I missed it so.

We were told he was loud, but he hasn’t vocalized all that much since we got him in the house. Maybe he felt he had to compete with the dogs or something. He’s been quite mellow, and didn’t even beg for my leftover noodles at supper time. I think once he realized he was the only pet in the house he got really happy. Already he’s acting like he owns the place.

He’s still a little skittish about being picked up and handled, so I don’t have photobooth pics yet. I do however have one that was posted on facebook by the lady we got him from.

He’s a bit more golden than he looks in this photograph, especially around the nose and ears. He’s very very gentle and considerate. He has this odd way of staring at things (and you) as if he’s disecting them to figure out how they work. I think he might be the smartest cat “evar”.

We’re already in love. Way way in love.
