A kitty made of awesome

So it’s been a couple of days now, and the little guy has really made himself at home. It took him a while to realize that he was allowed on the couch, now he spends much of his day there next to me as I work on the computer. I think he was a little cranky the first 48 hours or so, as he began to realize that we weren’t going to let him go play outside (we live right at the corner of 2 busy roads so we’re keeping him in). But Jamie gave him a little bit of canned tuna last night (we gather it’s his favourite) and he’s been pretty cheerful ever since.

He’s got a bit of a routine as well, which I’m still figuring out, but I think I’ve got the basics. He likes to get a little mushy in the morning (which is a bit different because most folks dole that out at night) then he has his morning “spaz attack” where he runs around chasing his jingly mouse and being sereiously funny. It’s a bit hard to get any work done at this point (it’s just so funny to watch), but that’s okay, I don’t take on the heavy stuff before 11am anyway. He stops for a few water breaks during this time, finally tuckering himself out and falling asleep either on the floor somewhere or on the couch.

We’re still working out the name situation, since he doesn’t seem to answer to the one he came with at all. At the moment, I seem to have better success making kissy noises when I want his attention. We’re going to give it a few more days so we can get a better feel for his personality, then try to pick something. He does seem to have a strange affection for one of Jamie’s shoes, I wonder if we can turn that into something. :D
