Wordpress Plugins I’m loving today

I’ve been noticing slowdown and bugginess in the site for some time now, and it’s only been on the WordPress end of it. I wasn’t completely sure why, but I knew it wasn’t the server because the forum always pops right up quick as you please when the link is clicked, so it had to be something else.

Like a big silly moo, I forgot that there is actually a plugin out there for hunting down orphaned options and deleting them from the database. I ran it and hoo boy, I had a lot of useless leftover entries from trying different plugins. I cleared it all out and everything is running a billion times smoother now. :)

Another one I’m finding very useful is the Optimize DB plugin. It pretty much does what is says, it optimizes your Wordpress database tables without you having ot log into phpMyAdmin, just your usual WordPress backend.

I installed these babys a few days ago, and so far the site has been much more responsive for me. Our internet connection is extremely unreliable, so I wasn’t sure if it was the site or our connection sometimes. I’m actually rather glad it was just the site, because that I can actually fix. :P
