Sounds of Silence
Apologies for the lack of updating. I’m still rather ick and my energy comes and goes, so I’m just not online as much right now. I’m working on a couple of sites, and planning a major restructuring of this one still. I don’t think it has a clear enough focus, and since I tend to post pretty much whatever I feel like in the blog most of the time, I need to build a proper homepage so that the first thing folks looking for wirewrapped jewellery (for example) see isn’t whatever funny video I’ve found on Youtube that day. This isn’t technically hard, I just haven’t been able to figure out how I want to do it, and I’ll probably need to bone up on coding to get everything the way I want it. It’s taking me forever.
It’s also pretty evident that I won’t have any new product ready for Christmas. I’m aiming for having some nice inexpensive stuff ready for some sort of post-xmas boxing day sales, but I don’t want to promise anything too specific. The main thing still knocking me out is body aches, and my finger joints are pretty sore a lot of the time. It’s all quite maddening, as we finally got me set up with a proper desk so I have plenty of room to craft now. I was sitting on the floor in front of the coffee table before that. The worst part of that was having to stand up, not easy getting up off the floor a lot when your joints hurt.
Despite all this, I’m actually in a fairly good mood lately, so don’t worry about me overmuch. (I don’t actually believe anybody’s worried, it’s just something ya say.) Sweetie and I had been trying to decide for several months whether or not to move back to our hometown, and finally came to a decision a little while ago. We’ve opted to stay in New Westminster, and as much as I would’ve loved to be close to my Mum and friends again, I’m rather relieved. I haven’t been fortunate enough to get to live in the same place for more than two years since ‘03, and I hear it takes at least three years to adjust to a new city, so we really haven’t given this place a full try yet. Sure we’re on our third Xmas as West Coasters, but it won’t be a full three years proper until Summertime.
I must say, after coming back from my trip to Alberta in October I sure was reminded of what a treat the wet weather is out here, and I have yet to see a winter as bad as the ones back home, so that’s another reason to be happy. ^_^
