Congratulations are in order!
My online (blogging and gaming) buddy Tony has had his xbox 360 site Attack of the Power Brick featured on Justin Tadlocks recent post hightlighting some excellent Options mods.
It’s a bit funny cuz I think Tony discovered Options by reading about it on my site.
He’s done some really excellent stuff with it, and I’ve been meaning to say so for a while but didn’t quite get around to it. Great stuff Tony!
Tony’s also awesome because he’s the only one who comments hear kinda regularily, even my husband doesn’t do that (and I actually don’t mind all that much cuz it’s always fun to have excuses to tease the hubster).
…oh gawd, I just called him “the hubster”. I may never live that down. XD
Ha, you know I did find out about it here and I just realized I never said anything about it even though I meant to. The theme is really damn amazing. What I think is especially cool is that you can tell you and I started from the same “base”, but the site’s have such different looks. I actually sent the creator a book, but apparently his address is wrong and I’ve been refunded lol.
And wow, I didn’t know I was on that. Thanks for posting about it.
Also, you guys are awesome and two of the best people I’ve met online in any recent time period (meaning /years/). I like reading this site lol.
Aw, we like you lots too. ^_^ We were talking the other day and we were like, “Wow, we’re both totally comfortable with letting Tony have full access to both our guild banks”, that’s probably the modern day equivalent of asking somebody to godfather your children. XD
Ha, well you might want to wait on that because I don’t even know how to use the things lol.
I’ve been playing on Sentinels pretty often though (as Punchbowl). Hopefully our schedules on there will mesh eventually.
Sweet! If I can tear myself away from my WordPress upgrades (I’ve got like, 4 sites to do) then I’ll definitely be ready for some playtime. ^_^
Have you upgraded to 2.5? I’ve been scared to do it on my site… I’m not sure how Options and my plug-ins will react.
I have! I’ve got a post in draft that I’ve been working on for a couple of days about it. I even tried the automatic upgrade plugin *rumages around for the url* ah, here we are.
It worked fine with options but there are a few hiccups with some plugins. For instance I tried to implement what I thought was the plugin you use to add a bit of wysiwyg to your comments (I forget what it’s called already, tinymce for commets or something like that?) and it didn’t seem to work.
I have to say, the automatic plugin updating (for the ones I kept that are still compatible) is fantastic.
Well I updated and it went fine, yay. Thanks for pointing out the updater plugin.
May I ask how you got gravatars to appear so nicely in your posts? I was having problems with that.
No problem. ^_^ I had to add some styling for them to the stylesheet. I copied from the blue danube stylesheet (Options 1.1 release) and made a couple changes.
#comments-template .avatar {
float: right;
width: 80px;
height: 80px;
margin: 7px 7px 7px 0;
padding: 4px;
background: #141414;
border: 1px solid #111;
}
Are you using a special plug-in to get them to show up?
Oops, forgot to mention that part. :p In version 1.1 of the theme there’s a config file where you can set gravatars to show up. The download page appears to be down right now, but I might have a copy kicking around on my hard drive. Want me to email it to you?
Yeah, if you’d not mind…
All sent, with some notes about possible hiccups in the upgrade for reference.
