Here they are in their finalized version. I adapted them from a couple other tutorials I found elsewhere on the net (I’ve lost the list of links for the moment, had to re-install windows a few days ago and I put some of my backups in funny places it seems) then tried my best to get them to come out the same every time. The yarn weights vary slightly between colours though they’re all the same type and brand (acrylic), so I have to vary them by a stitch or two in width, but nothing major.
The main inspiration for their final state was this pattern here. This provided the breakthrough I needed to get consistent results (crocheting continuous rounds without closing each ring, made it much easier for me to make a nice smooth “of a piece” rectangle of uniform size). I was going to add button holes and buttons but I’m not sure what method would look best yet, so I just made slightly longer flaps so they could be tucked in. This even works when there are headphones as well as the ipod in the cozy, so it’s not a bad alternative.
I’ll be listing these on Etsy (for no more than 5 bucks each after shipping I think) but if anybody would like to call dibs on one before I do just leave a comment on this post and I’ll contact you through email with the necessary info. I’ve got plenty of yarn still so there will be more than these four soon. ^_^

What about us cooler kids with the new Zunes?
I’d love to make you a Zune cozy if you want one. ^_^ I just need the dimensions so I can adjust the pattern.
I will have to invest in a ruler.
